We have a few books that belonged to my great-uncle (my paternal grandfather's elder brother), Gopalakrishna Gurjar. My father and my aunts told me that he was an avid reader and collector of books, most of them in Marathi. Uncle Gopal was a priest in the Janardana temple in Amaravathy, Cochin, in the pre-independence era. He passed away in 1947 at the age of sixty.
When our family moved out of our house in Amaravathy, Cochin, we gave away most of the books that Uncle Gopal had collected. My grandfather brought a few of them to our new house in the Mattancherry area of Cochin. We still have these books with us.
I wish to extend the life of these books. by preserving their contents. Towards this end, I will take digital copies of these books and share them (in those cases where the publisher's copyright is no longer applicable).
